The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) is actively seeking a Program Director to help fulfill our mission and serve the needs of our dynamic and diverse community.

For decades, the ICP has been the largest and most influential Islamic institution in Western Pennsylvania, providing quality religious, educational, and social services in a diverse and culturally respectful environment. Our mission is to shape the American-Muslim identity by educating, empowering, and uniting our dynamic and diverse community.

The ICP has long been an integral part of the community, serving as an excellent location to visit, study, and get involved through its various programs, events, and services.  The City of Pittsburgh itself has received numerous accolades the past several years as being one of the most affordable, livable, and dynamic cities in the United States.  The masjid is located just blocks from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. As a result, the Muslim community in the region has evolved from a group of students to families seeking professional opportunities, affordability, safety, prestigious schools, and a strong sense of community.

We are seeking a Program Director who has the ability to take the ideas and needs of community members and translate them into inclusive, consistent programming. This person must be able to recruit, train, and manage volunteers.

The Program Director will work under the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and with other full-time and seasonal staff members. The ability to work well in a variety of different kinds of teams with widely varying dynamics is crucial to a successful ICP Program Director.

The programs that the Program Director is responsible for include but are not limited to: Sunday School Programs; Dawah; Help for the Convert; Arabic Language Instruction; UAP/ICP Summer Camp, YANE (youth) activities; New student welcome and Graduation Reception: Humanity Day; CMU, Pitt, Duquesne, Chatham MSA engagement; Fundraising; Young adult leadership program; Annual women’s conference; Annual Hajj celebration; Community Dinners; Ramadan; Eid Celebrations; Sadaqa Program; and Janazah and Burial Services.

The ICP offers a competitive salary depending of years of experience and academic qualifications. For those interested, please email your resume and a cover letter to boardofdirectors@icp-pgh.org and executive.director@icp-pgh.org.
