Message from Ustadhah Gheed:
I hold a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, and it was through studying the wonders of creation that my heart was drawn to the words of the Creator. This journey led me to the field of Quranic learning and teaching. Along the way, I studied Tajweed and earned an advanced certification from the Ministry of Al-Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Amman, Jordan. I was later honored to receive an Ijazah in Quran recitation (narrated by Hafs from 'Asim), as well as an Ijazah in Qaeda Nuraniyah from the Al-Furqan Training Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

My learning continues with gratitude—earning a Diploma in the Skills of Learning and Acting Upon the Quran, participating in Prophetic Pedagogy professional development workshops, and receiving certifications in Building Arabic Language Foundations. I’ve also benefited from courses and seminars in Tafseer methodology, Quranic Arabic, and effective teaching strategies.

With over 20 years of teaching experience—most of it in Islamic education—Alhamdulillah, I currently serve as a Quranic Studies teacher at the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh, a full-time Islamic school.
