There are a few pathways to learn about Islam. One is from reading. For a most basic concept and outline of Islam, I recommend this brief articleor this short illustrated book. For a more detailed book, I like What Everyone Should Know About Islam and Muslimswhich may also be downloaded free from the author’s blog. If you combine that along with a Short History of Islam, you'll have a well-rounded fundamental understanding of the faith and what brought people to where they are today.

To learn through video, here is the 5-minute version, and another and here is a longer explanation of our faith.

We also recommend Islam Religion dot com which has an extensive article database and a live chat feature to answer any questions you might have. Finally, you may contact us and ask to speak with the imam to get your questions answered. We hope you’ll choose knowledge over ignorance.

If you would like to read a translation of the meanings of the Quran here is a PDF arranged like a novel. To search and use for referencing and see different translations, look here.

You may also want to have a connection with your local Muslim community. Therefore, we frequently open the Masjid doors to allow the general public to see the masjid and learn about a special topic in Islam. These “Islam 101” events will occasionally be on a first Thursday of the month. Check back for updates!

Also, if you represent a group or organization and would like to arrange for a guided tour or for a speaker to come to you, message the Imam personally.

And if you are a Muslim with experience speaking about Islam and representing our faith and would like to lend a hand with masjid tours or “What is Islam” presentations or even special topics, please let us know so you can be a part of our team.
