Islamic School

The Universal Academy of Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh's only full-time Islamic School. UAP is committed to providing a learning environment that produces confident, knowledgeable citizens.

We offer the following array of programs: Adult Basic Education (ABE) / Literacy Classes, High School Equivalency Classes (HiSET/GED), English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes, Computer Classes, Licensed Computer-Based Testing Center, Volunteer Tutor Opportunities, and Vocational Evaluation and Assessment Services.


English Language Learning

The Library is a treasure trove of learning opportunities for the English learner. Check out magazines on a topic you enjoy. Listen to audiobooks. Get recommendations for children, teen and adult reads that will challenge your learning. Try studying a grammar and vocabulary guide (or DVD) made for English learners like you. You can also attend classes and conversation sessions, or use online tools from home to build English language skills.

Free ESL Citizenship & Naturalization Class

Become an American Citizen with Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s free ESL Citizenship & Naturalization classes. You will participate in small classes with other students of a similar level. You will work with instructors and tutors who genuinely care about your progress.
